Common questions.

Due to season limitations our openings can be limited. Once you're interested, reach out by phone or email as soon as possible. We're happy to answer any questions about openings, seasons, and licensing, help you plan the perfect trip, and then put a hold on your chosen dates. You can contact us anytime afterward to plan for weather, special accommodations, and anything in between.
We accept checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. A 25% deposit is required at the time of booking, and the balance is due within 60 days of the trip. A 3.5% card processing fee applies on all card sales.
Cancellations must be made 60 days prior to the start of your trip to receive a maximum refund of your deposit. We do everything in our power to return your deposit; however, if you cancel less than 60 days prior and we're unable to re-book that time, up to 50% of your deposit may be non-refundable.
On hunting trips, a 15% gratuity is collected before your trip. Tips are not included in fishing charter pricing.
In Alaska, bad weather can sometimes alter set plans. If the captain of the M/V Allen Ray decides to delay a scheduled trip due to weather or any other reason, he'll make the call on any discount to the customer. The safety of our customers and crew always comes first. We encourage guests who are flying to purchase travelers insurance in case a flight is missed.
In Kodiak, guests often stay at the Best Western, Shelikof Lodge, Kodiak Compass Suites, or the Quality Inn out by the airport. In Homer, there is Land’s End Resort, Best Western, Aspen Suites, the Driftwood Inn, Beluga Lake Lodge and several others. Give us a call if you would like a recommendation for your dates.
Yes. Alaskan fishing licenses and any required hunting licenses, stamps, and tags are the responsibility of each guest and are not included in trip pricing. We're glad to help point you in the right direction.
